Fleo Leggings Review: Do They Pass The Workout Tests?
I had my eyes on Fleo leggings for a long time!
Several trainers and Insta Fit friends have raved about Fleo and their constant new pattern launches for years.
But here's the thing...
If everyone is doing something... I tend to avoid it.
I have this rebel side to me... not sure if it's a good or bad thing. I don't like following hot trends through.
Take Pumpkin Spice Lattes....
It took me YEARS to order one. No joke.
The problem is... I ended up loving pumpkin spiced lattes.
I missed out on many delicious fall afternoons because of my hard headedness.
Did I Miss Out On Years of Fleo Leggings Goodness?
I decided to lower my shield and see what the fuss was about.
Would Fleo match up to say my Carbons or Koral and...
- Feel great and smooth on the skin?
- Make my legs look amazing and strong?
- Make my butt look juicy and hide my imperfections?
- How would they handle sweat and a hardcore workout?
- And a big one for more... how would they handle a run?
Let's find out and start with...
My Fleo Leggings Review
I ordered the El Toro 21" Hawaiian Ocean in XS originally for $69.95 (I found a discount code).
Day 1... I got my shipping notification. Fast... I like that.
Day 6... the leggings arrived. Not bad.
I also got a pair of their shorts, but that will be a separate post!
How Did Fleo Leggings (Initially) Fit?
For reference, I’m 5’5 and 125lb.
I ordered the XS but I think the S would have fit a better.
If you're between sizes, I recommend go up one size.
What I Love About Fleo
Out of the bag, they felt amazing.
Smooth and baby soft.
The waist band is high, but not restricting.
It's mostly foldable, which I love.
During workouts, when I’m sweating like crazy and burning up...
I try to fold down every pair of leggings I have to get some air to my skin.
I tend to prefer low waist leggings. But they are hard to find.
Am I the only one who prefers low waist leggings?
Let me know on social.
These fold over great without stretching out! (So far.)
The Length Is My Favorite Part
They’re not short enough to be a capris but a little shorter than a 7/8th... making them awesome for summer.
Did These Leggings Pass The Bend Test?
See for yourself.
Here’s an up close picture of my booty to prove nothing is showing through.
I know it's un-lady like to show my booty so close... but this is valuable leggings research.
A Big Idea
This sounds strange but I don't mind a little see through on my leggings. Let me explain...
I don't wear a thong or any underwear under my leggings.
I don't have to worry about panty lines and fabric contrast which usually makes thin leggings really stand out.
My Koral leggings are little see through... but you can only tell if you stick your face 3 feet from my butt when I'm bending over.
The feel and look of my Koral leggings is more of a pro than the small negative of having a barely there see through fabric.
Let me know what you think? Do you agree or disagree?
What Don't Love About Fleo Leggings
If you’re looking to hide imperfections like cellulite or tummy pooch…
These leggings aren’t going to help much.
My butt cellulite is definitely showing loud and proud (not in this picture but I promise it does)… but luckily, I just don’t care.
If you do, it’s something to consider.
Same with the belly pooch.
Don’t expect a lot of tummy support to hold things in.
To me the lack of control is preferred because it is more comfortable, moveable and breathable.
Dan is always getting on me about my posture through... I know it's something I need to workout on big time.
In fact, I have a very square torso, and the height of the band isn't always flattering... as seen with this post Murph picture:
I also think high waist leggings make you look stalky. Are you with me?
Fleo Leggings Workout: Do They Pass The Fit Tests?
Test #1: The Workout Test
Just like my review of the Amazon SUUKSESS leggings , The first workout test was a metcon for a Fit Women's Weekly Habit Program that included:
- Bent over rows
- Racked squats
- Push presses
(This was a killer workout BTW).
And here’s what I wanted to learn:
Could these leggings:
Stay up with fast up and down transitions and squats?
Feel comfortable when bending and squatting?
Avoid showing my butt crack as I sweat and stretched the material.
And are they breathable since it’s so hot and humid in Charleston?
I'm happy to report, the leggings stayed up.
No thigh pull ups for these guys.
Comfort wise they were great!
Once again, the waist wasn’t constricting which allowed me to focus more on the workout and less on my breathing…
And the material was thin enough so I didn’t overheat but thick enough to not show my booty to my YouTube world.
10/10 would wear these again for lifting and Metcon workouts .
By the time this post comes out, I have worn these SEVERAL times, which you can see on my Instagram @KindalBoyleFitness.
Test #2: Can You Run In Fleo Leggings?
It’s one thing to be able to lift and put weights down in a pair of leggings...
It’s another thing to be able to run in a pair of leggings.
These passed 8/10!
I’ve run up to 10 miles in my Fleos.
They stay up… move comfortably through strides… and have taken 2 minutes off my mile time (that’s a lie, but wouldn’t it be cool if it were true?).
The only negative: I do get some butt chaffing after long runs.
Maybe it’s just me and my butt cheeks, but something to consider if you’re prone to chaff too.
After a day the chaffing is gone and I forget about it by time I pull them out for another run a week or so later.
And history repeats itself.
Fleo Leggings Overall Score
I really wanted to not like these…
Remember, I don’t like following the crowd.
But I do.
I love the feel, the color, and the moveability. Damn it. I LIKE THEM.
Total score: 8/10
I docked the two points for cellulite and the butt chaffing.
If you’ve considered hopping on the Fleo bandwagon, I gotta say…
Go for it.
And if you have…
